The Rotary Club of Taksin-Pattaya is a new club with its Charter dating back only to the first year of this century. That isn’t much of a club history but we’re determined to make our reputation as a club that does a great deal to help the poor & needy of Pattaya & Thailand.

Our club is unique in being located in the most desired tourist destination on earth but its also has a reputation of being just as notorious. Each year millions of visitors come from all over the world to enjoy our beaches and experience our captivating night life. Their impact on our economy is of course welcome but also quite remarkable is their effect on our society.

Our club is dedicated to helping the countless poor, helpless and needy drawn to our community of Pattaya. We’ve followed Rotary advice and gone to our local officials in determining what our most pressing community’s needs are. This has opened our eyes to some major social problems and moral questions that are complex but also similar to other resorts in the world. Today these problems include organized crime, alcohol and drug abuse, prostitution and child abuse along with extortion while they also include the so-called victimless crimes such as gambling, to list just a few.

Our club accepts that many of these social problems have obtained the status of moral questions and have almost acquired the status of institutions in our society so well beyond the range of any one service club no matter how well intended they may be. Nevertheless our goal still remains to make as much of a difference to our community as possible. If were unable to solve these insurmountable social problems and moral questions then we make it our goal to at lease alleviate physical suffering whenever possible while doing our best to publicize tragic situations to the world so they may see their effect on our community.

How YOU can help :

Everyone knows it takes money for social projects to work and reach their intended goals. However most people don’t realize that it also takes a physical presence and a good organization to insure that the project’s goals are reached.

International Visitors :

In working towards our goal we’ve come to the conclusion that we can be even more effective if we have more to work with so we ask for your donations in any amount you feel necessary. If you’d like to assist us in our projects please mail your donation directly to the club’s bank account. Whatever the amount helps us so we can help more.

Local Residents:

In our research to find the most pressing problems of our community we’ve found that often social problems are not always recognized so they can be dealt with. Often people see problems and assume that local officials are aware but just aren’t doing anything. From our experience we find that this isn’t always the case and if more social problems were reported to local authorities more positive action would be taken.

If you know of a charity or individuals in Pattaya you feel could use our help please let us know by writing directly to us. Or if you’re a resident that would like to help please come join us at our regular club meetings every Thursday evening at seven o’clock in the Amari Orchid Resort & Tower Pattaya.

Finally, in asking for your help and in return for your trust our club make the following three pledges. First, that all donations will go directly to assist the poor and needy of Pattaya. Second, that all donations received for a particular project will go directly to that project. Third, insure that our projects are used to help local wildlife and the environment for the benefit of future generations. We’re here to help and with your help we can do more.
